2020 Shirley Hunsberger Scholarship for Students in the Arts

The Fuquay-Varina Arts Council is honored to name the 2020 FVAC Student Scholarship after Shirley Hunsberger. 

Shirley has a been a longtime member and supporter of the FVAC.  Her time, endeavors and dedication has made a significant impact for artists in the community and surrounding areas.  Shirley is an artist and successful business owner of Magnolia House Custom Framing located on 218 South Main Street in Fuquay-Varina.

Purpose

The Fuquay-Varina Arts Council is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.  It is our mission to cultivate vibrant communities by supporting emerging artists through education, engagement and exhibition.  We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ability, sexual orientation, or gender expression, to the extent prohibited by law.  The FVAC offers this scholarship to provide funds for a graduating high school senior to pursue higher education in an arts-related field. 

2020 Award

This is a one-time award for $500, which will be paid directly to the student’s account at their chosen accredited institution of higher learning.
